🔬 Why Use Custom Elements?

Every reef system is different. Coral load, microbiome activity, and water chemistry all affect how elements are used over time. Oceamo’s high-sensitivity ICP testing identifies exactly which macro and trace elements are being depleted — and in what quantities.

Based on this, we produce a personalised mix of elements, made in the UK by Reef Quest, to correct those specific gaps and restore balance in your tank.

💡 If You’ve Used Oceamo ICP-MS...

Thanks to the far greater sensitivity of ICP-MS, your Custom Elements package includes both:

1. A correction dose to restore deficient elements

2. A 100-day supply of ultra-trace element dosing, calculated specifically for your reef’s uptake

This level of precision is only possible with ICP-MS.

While ICP-OES remains a valuable tool for broad trace analysis, it has inherent detection limits that make accurate ultra-trace element supplementation impossible — a limitation of the method itself, not the equipment used.

Each Custom Elements pack is made specifically for your aquarium and typically consists of 1 to 4 bottles, depending on the number of elements required.
